Knowledge Hive- Ad

Knowledge Hive is a week long residential retreat for the serious students of Islamic knowledge. A gathering of the best and most dedicated students and some of the top AlKauthar instructors. A rare opportunity to live, eat, pray and spend intimate time with the shuyukh in an environment of eeman, knowledge and constant remembrance of Allah. It is your opportunity to isolate yourself from the distractions of the dunya and concentrate on mental and spiritual refinement through intensive study of your deen.

KnowledgeHive is held for duration of 7 days. A typical day starts at Fajr with Quran recitation and thereafter lessons are held throughout the day with meals and short breaks. Daily recreational breaks are also in place to ensure physical activity and team building opportunities for the students.

The week will end off with an OSKE exam. This is an oral exam in which students are verbally tested by the instructors. Instructors are situated in various stations where they will ask a set of questions related to their topic for five minutes each.

Course Topics

1. Provisions for the Hereafter (Zaad Al-Ma'ad) by Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah

This book is one of the important resources of knowledge for those who seek to know the Seerah of their Prophet (PBUH) as well as, the Fiqh learned from it. This is a book that is unique in that it explains the Sunnah through the Seerah and the Seerah through the Sunnah. The text book is provided for all the students.

2. Umdatul Ahkam by Imam Abdul Ghani Al-Maqdisi
This is a famous text that contains hadith pertaining to shariah rulings (ahkam) from Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih al-Muslim. The following chapters will be covered: Chapter of Food, Drinks, Clothing, Hunting and Udhiya.

3. Summarized Sahih Al-Bukhari: Book of Fitan & Book of Tawhid


4. Riyaad us-Saliheen (Selected Chapters) by Imam An-Nawawi

5. Risala Lateefa (Usool al-Fiqh) by Abdur-Rahan ibn Nasir as-Sa'di
An essay on Usool al-Fiqh described by the author as: uncomplicated in wording, clear in meaning, and useful in learning its rulings to whosoever contemplates its meanings.

6. Biography of the 4 Imams: Abu Hanifa, Malik, As-Shafii, Ahmed bin Hanbal
