She can work without supervision, does things without being asked, does things thoroughly and carefully, extremely well-mannered and in classic Malay terms "Pandai bawak diri". My house has never been this neat and tidy EVER.
Will be sad to see her go but all good things must end.
Anyways, I posted another advertisement on the alumni mailing list. Unfortunately no-one answered. So we had to go with Plan B.
Alhamdulillah, looking at our rosters until the end of the year - there are only perhaps 20 days that are problematic (i.e. no one to look after Layth). So our solutions include:
1. Asking hubby's friend to babysit for a few of those days
2. Take "sick leave" where appropriate
3. Enrol Layth into another full day at kinder in addition to the 2.5 days he already has now
4. Change our shifts around as much as it is allowed
5. Send Layth back to stay with my parents for 1 week (near the end of my internship) when hubby attends the Knowledge Hive and I have work.
But we still need a babysitter for next year (February to May 2011) because InshaAllah I'll be doing O&G (demanding job) and hubby will be doing his specialty rotations so it might not be too easy to do Plan B as above.
Full time childcare is not practical because who will look after Layth on weekends and after hours? Too expensive too. AUD$1500 a month. That's more than our rent. =P
May Allah make it easy for us.
