In the morning I got a message from my registrar that she wouldn't be in today because of a family emergency. So I have to work the whole day today alone (instead of having the afternoon off).
The day was alright. A right combination of paperwork and clinical work to keep me occupied but not stressed.
I even put in a male urinary catheter (1st time tau!!!) with success!
Diagnosed a patient with query appendicitis even though the nurses disagreed and said the patient was just making it up to stay longer.
Tended to rashes, swollen legs, blood in urine and falls.
Had to be a nurse at one point; helping the patient pee.
Had to be a ward clerk many times during the day (again). God, I hate that phone.
All in a day's work.
