Albeit we're starting a bit late than the rest of the world.
A friend of mine on Facebook had this status
"Want to have some "halal insurance" on your Ramadan deeds? Here is how: If you make your plans & sincere intentions now for what you want to do in this month, then something beyond your control causes you to underperform, then inshaAllah you will still get the full reward. If you don't make any intentions however, you... only get what you do! Best of all, this insurance is free, so do it NOW!" Shk. Waleed Abdulhakeem
I thought about it and realised...eh ye laa, we should do this. That's why we should have Ramadhan goals. Our goals are our intention. And we will get rewarded for them even if we didn't have the opportunity to achieve them.
I thought Bulugh AlMaram lessons were opportune this time because we're studying Book of Fasting at the moment.
So among my goals this year is InshaAllah to strive and follow the sunnah; even in the tiny things. For example; among the usual things, I will try to:
Eat sahoor (for the reward of sahoor and the barakah) - because I'm the type that is too lazy to wake up for sahoor and can fast without it
Prepare the sahoor and iftar (for the reward of feeding the fasting) instead of just buying it. Apparently the more effort you make (not in excess) to do this, the more the reward.
Break my fast with dates - I'm not a fan of dates to be honest
Increase in sadaqah - remember even smiling is sadaqah!
InshaAllah. May this Ramadhan be fruitful and lucrative for us all.

eh samalah dengan my last blog entry dengan apa sheikh tu cakap. LOL. but the sheiks tu cakap jauh lebih berisi dan bernas.
i think when we have goals we can focus and kerja keras to achieve it sebabnya. Insya Allah.
i am smiling at you tau ni.
hihihi This year rasa blessed sangat-sangat sebab I have friends that made me realised I must have and must try to achieve these goals. Kawan2 tak perasan kot tapi sebenarnya... you guys helped a lot!
*berbunga-bunga*
Kadang2 a simple fb status eg. from Lily on the Ramadhan chart, doa kawan2 yang bila kita baca kita pun sebenarnya ikut berdoa dan berzikir juga! masya allah bagusnya fb ni!
Oh i pun tak gemar dates. Last year i even tried buat Zan's Kurma fritter. Nak bagi suka makan. Tak jadi juga.
Tapi tahun ni dapat dates sedekah yang amat sedap! I can eat 3 during iftar. Amazing.
alhamdulillah..setakat ni apa yg dlm list tu k sara amalkan, cuma nk kena byk sabar lah ,biaselah sometimes the boys drive me craaazy,,....huhuhu
lollies- hehehe kita senyum balik la nih
nina- semua benda ada kebaikannya even FB hahah
k sara- alhamdulillah. congratulations.
tp just to point out to other readers that most ppl don't realise kalau nak ikut sunnah it has to be intentional bukan incidental.
so kalau bukak puasa with dates because dari kecik buka puasa with dates is not following the sunnah.
k nina- oh..have you tried FRESH dates? rutob? yg kering2 ni i tak berapa gemor. but the fresh ones subhanallah...sgt sedap! gebu2 and gemuk and moist and not that sweet
Amiin. Selamat berpuasa!
che na...try dates yg aliya cakap tu..i'm never a dates fan pun..kurma fritter is for hubby n my dad, they love it..but this year i bought yg muda, yellow in color, berdetup detap lah makan sodapp :)
this year iftar mmg low key..no beli2 except weekends and no eating buffet (every yr the same), try to katam quran, selalu tak berjaya esp bila dah red flag, hilang momentum...
may we steadfast this ramadhan :)
