I'm glad I took up this hobby. It truly is wondrous. It might be frustrating at first and you have to be patient tending to the plant but when it bears fruit.. it's so exciting!
I even think it's a good activity for kids too. Layth loves watering the plants. Then we find any insects lurking about like ants and spiders or pests like snails. He can learn that veggies and fruits come from plants; not the supermarket. He gets excited too when I show him the cucumber/eggplant. He wants to help with putting the compost too but it's a bit dangerous coz it's a bit powdery so it can be inhaled.Layth can count the eggplants...there are now 5 of them!! Here's the 3 bigger ones. I just have to find out when we can pick them. I love eating eggplant but I'm allergic to the ones sold here in Australia. I wasn't allergic to the ones Fida planted in her backyard so it must be that I'm allergic to whatever pesticide they use to grow it commercially here.
Now I feel more ambitious. I borrowed a gardening book from the local library. I want to know what plants can be planted late summer/autumn hee hee.

ouh i remember masa bibir ko bengkak tu. i was the one who fed you that terung. hehe.. sowwy! pelik gak masa tu bila ko kata selama ni makan terung kat msia takde hal pun.
i learned and started gardening in std 4. never look back since then. memang best! i've started planting daun sup, daun bawang, kunyit and serai my new house. wohoo! ada free time sket nanti nak semai cili, terung and bendi plak. :)

ana- hehe tak perlu ada tanah banyak pun. u can still use pots. at my old house i used pots aje. u dont even have to use proper pots. i used old buckets and boxes and even pizza carton!

Watching and knowing that it is food you gave your love and attention to for it to grow is indescribable. Huhu. Unfortunately for me, mine selalunya tak menjadi. Is there really such a thing as tangan panas? Coz thats what mine seems like. Everything eventually dies.

nmj- i dunno..maybe it's the technique? my plants always used to die jugak. then i "studied" a bit more..tried different things..then menjadi.
