For my revision for SG exams :D But hopefully everyone reading can also benefit InshaAllah
1. What is the ruling of witr prayer? Wajib or sunnah?
Narrated Abu Ayub Al-Ansari: Allah's Messenger SAW said, "AlWitr prayer is a duty upon every Muslim, so whoever likes to offer it with five rakaat let him do so and whoever likes to offer it with three then let him do so and whoever likes to offer it with one, let him do so" (Reported by the Four)
Narrated Ali bin Abi Talib: The Witr prayer is not obligatory as the prescribed prayer but it is a sunnah which was established by the practice of Allah's Messenger SAW (Reported by At-Tirmizi, An-Nasaie and AlHakim)
Based on the first hadith, Imam Abu Hanifah and the Hanafi scholars maintain that Witr is wajib since it is explicitly said that it is a duty.
Based on the second hadith, majority of scholars say the Witr prayer is sunnah.
To reconcile between the two, the ruling of Witr prayer is a very stressed sunnah
2. What is solat AlIshraq?
When a person who stays up after Fajr performing dhikr until the sun has finished rising and prays 2-8 rakaat just after sunrise; this is solat AlIshraq.
3. What is the ruling of solat Haajat?
There is no such thing. There is no authentic proof in the Quran and Sunnah that supports the performance of solat Haajat.
4. What is the ruling for men to attend congregational prayers at the masjid?
It is wajib for all men who live within 3km of a masjid.
Narrated Abu Hurairah RA: Allah's Messenger SAW said:
"By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, I have thought of giving orders for fuel wood to be gathered, then giving orders for prayer and having the adhan called, then ordering a man to lead the people in prayer then going off to some people who are not present at the prayer and burning down their houses upon them..." (Reported by Bukhari)
The above hadith is proof that attending congregational prayers for men in the masjid is wajib.
Narrated Abu Hurairah RA: A blind man came to the Prophet SAW and said "O Messenger of Allah I have no guide to take me to the masjid. " He (The Prophet) permitted him to pray at his house but when the man turned away the Prophet SAW asked him "Can you hear the adhan?" He answered "Yes." The Prophet said "Then respond to it" (i.e. come to the masjid to pray). Reported by Muslim.
The blind man was Ibn Umm Makhtum. Even he was not given the excuse to not attend the masjid. Later on he came to the masjid every single prayer time and became Rasulullah's muaddhin and would be the imam for prayer when Rasulullah was out of Madinah.
This hadith shows us that it is only wajib to attend the masjid if one can hear the adhan in natural circumstances (e.g. without microphone). Scholars have decided that a 3km radius from the masjid is the distance that the adhan can be heard without external interference.
5. Is it permissible for a 7 year old to lead the prayer of men?
Yes, if he fulfills the criteria of being an imam (i.e. more knowledgable of the Quran than others in his presence)
Narrated Amr bin Salima: "My father said, "I have come from the true Prophet SAw, so when the time of prayer comes one of you should announce the adhan and the one of you who knows the Quran most should be your imam.". He (Amr) said, "They looked around and there was no one who knew the Quran more than I. So they put me forward in front of them and I was only 6 or 7 years old". (Reported by Bukhari, Abu Dawud and An-Nasaie).
6. Can the imam and ma'mum have different niyyah in prayer? E.g. Imam praying nafl but ma'mum praying fardh
Yes.
Narrated Muadh bin Jabal: "I used to pray Isha' prayer with the Prophet SAW and then go (home) and lead my people in the prayer". (Reported by Bukhari)
Since we can't pray fardh prayer twice, then Muadh led his people in Isha' prayer but he was praying a nafl prayer.
7. When can a person perform qasr, jama' or both?
Qasr is attached to travelling only.
Jama' is attached to difficulty such as a female with istihadhah, sick people, heavy rain or extreme fear.
Only a traveller who has difficulty can do both jama' and qasr. The definition of difficulty is subjective.
Some people say just the act of travelling is difficult. Some people think if they are staying in a comfortable hotel; there is no need for them to perform jama' and they perform qasr only.
8. How many people are needed for establishment of salatul Jumu'ah?
"O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah, and leave off business (and traffic): That is best for you if ye but knew!" Surah AlJumuah verse 9.
The pronoun used in this verse was a plural pronoun (jama'). The minimum number to be regarded as jama' is 3.
Since there are no specific texts with specific numbers of people needed for establishing Friday prayer, then this is the stronger opinion; the opinion of Ibn Taimiyah, AlAuzai'e and Imam Ahmad.
9. Can you talk during the khutbah of Jumu'ah?
No conversation is allowed among the congregation even if to tell the other person to be silent. Conversation between congregational members and the khatib is allowed.
Narrated Ibn Abbas: Allah's Messenger SAW said: Whoever speaks on Friday while the imam is giving the khutbah, he is like a donkey which carries book; and he who tells him to be quiet has no Jumu'ah" (Reported by Ahmad)
There are many hadith that mention Rasulullah SAW talking to a person in the congregation while he was on the minbar giving the khutbah. One of them is:
Narrated Jabir: A man entered the masjid on a Friday when the Prophet SAW was delivering the khutbah and he (the Prophet SAW) said (to him) "Have you prayed?". He replied "no". The Prophet said "Stand and pray 2 raka'ah" (Reported by Bukhari & Muslim).
Therefore it is allowed for a conversation to occur between the khatib and any member of the congregation. As with the above hadith, Rasulullah told the person to pray tahiyyatul masjid.
10. What is the ruling of salatul 'Eid?
For men:
WAJIB from the opinion of the Hanafi scholars, Ibn Taimiyah and Ibn Baz
FARDH KIFAYAH from the opinion of Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal
MUSTAHAB - majority of scholars
For women: All scholars agree that it is mustahab
And well done to Lollies who got 99% correct :p (and actually attempted to answer hehee!)

Yayyyy!!! Aku lulus!
This is a good dalil. I remember ada satu sister ni. She was praying nawafil before zuhur and someone came to her and tepuk dia jadi imam kot. And then she finished the two rakaah and made such a commotion that minah tu ikut dia solat walhalnya the follower is doing fardh.
wehei the word verification today is fulan.
Of courselah I diam aje. Satu sebab tak tau satu lagi she seemingly is more knowledgable than I am. Everyone else is.
Anyway i told lover of this one wrong answer pastu tup tup dia kata dia tau jawapan is boleh. I saspek dia kata dia tau because I dah cakap kat dia I salah and what the answer is. :P
sebenarnya nak jawab, tapi tgk lollies dah jawab. except for no 6 tu, memang akak belajar pun boleh, cuma selalu stress dalam pengajian sini, imam & makmum kena sama niat. akak malas nak argue, sebab tak hafal the dalils pun :P
I'm bad. I keep forgetting the dalils. So I can't go up and tell people stuff because then, they'd be asking me, "and this is under what ruling or what dalil". Hmm, should be motivation enough for me to hone on my memory storage ni.
As for number 6, one lady rukuk lamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa after my mum masbuk, last last dia teruskan juga. I don't remember what her reaction was after solat (ke dia tinggal je my mum after wards...huhu).
lollies- but i agree with u..even if u know something..sometimes it's not appropriate utk tegur.
hehe tak aci la ur lover teka jawapan :p
kak aini- when that happens i usually ask them with a curious tone.. apa ek dalil imam and makmum kene niat sama?
nusayba- me too actually. i remember the gist of the hadith but not the exact wordings. susah..we have to learn to be accurate kan. memory ni plak makin tua makin slow. u know arabic kan? usually kalau hafal arabic words..the translation can come naturally inshaAllah
aliya, boleh akak copy paste this stuffs tak? need to share with my friends
oh thank you2 :) baru dapat baca today. it's good to have this q&a, at least boleh test my knowledge.
no 3 is new to me..but anyways will archive this.
kak aini- no problemo. just say sources: Bulugh AlMaram by Imam Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani and Subul asSalam by Muhammad bin Ismail As-San'anee and Sheikh Bilal Ismail.
zan- hehehe bagus2...sentiasa belajar and amalkan benda baru. bila tau dalil, we do the deed with awareness.
