Family Outing

Lamanyaaa tak go on a family outing. Today's trip was unplanned. We wanted to go out but didn't know where to go. We had already gotten in the car and drove out on to the highway before having even decided where to go. Hehehehe.

We planned to go the National Steam Centre; a railway museum that has a miniature train ride every last Sunday of the month. But when we got there it was closed!! Fortunately we noticed that opposite the road from it was Chesterfield Farm. Apa lagi...gi situ la (after lunch at Sofia's nearby - refer previous entry)

A very clean and well kept farm indeed. There were the regular farm animals plus llama/alpaca, deers,  kangaroos, emus and ostriches. We could feed all of them. The deers were cute. But everytime we wanted to feed them, the male deer with the biggest antlers (alpha male kot) came darting through and chased away all the others so he could eat the offerings.

There was a petting barn where there were rabbits, lambs, calves, piglets and sheep to pet. Layth enjoyed petting the rabbits and lambs (they had oh-so cute little horns!!). He wasn't too keen on the calves...despite being a few weeks old, they were quite big.

We watched a show where they milked a cow and we got to milk it too! First time milking a cow ...cewah. Now I can say I've expressed milk from a cow's udder hee hee. 

They also demonstrated how the sheep dog controls the sheep herd. So amazing!

We can go again. It's not too far from home. We didn't even finish doing all the things there (like watching sheep shearing, riding the tractor, seeing the bull) because prayer time is short now so we had to get going.

Layth had a fun day, out in the open; he could shout and scream and run around to his heart's content (without getting a "ish jangan bising sangat" from Ummi)
