Sense of Imagination

It is quite easy to entertain Layth nowadays. He has such a big imagination that we can pretend play.

He likes to pretend to be a fireman. So we act out an emergency scene. The fire bell rings, then we rush and wear our imaginary jacket, boots (and Layth has his fireman helmet). Then we ride an imaginary fire engine and rush to fight a fire.

Layth also lives to be a diver to "resku (rescue) fish". He "dives" onto his bed (which is lower and next to our bed) and pretends to swim around looking for fish. Then he catches (or rescues as he says) some fish. The funniest thing is then he tells me "Ok Ummi let's barbeque the fish". Kahkahkah. So much for rescuing. Ummi then barbeques the fish and we gobble it up together.

We also like to make imaginary muffins. Because he's helped me lots of times to make (real) cakes and muffins, he kinda knows the processes. So he pretends to make cakes. He know he needs to put imaginary flour, sugar, eggs, butter into a bowl. Then he mixes it and puts the batter in imaginary muffin pan and puts it in the oven. Then we gobble up his imaginary muffins too.

Mind you, it's all imaginary. We don't even use any plastic toys or anything. Just gestures and his imagination and his story telling. It's fun stuff!

Oh, and he also likes to play doctor. No one taught him, he just knows how. He will say "Baba/Ummi sakit, lie down! Layth doctor". Then he will tell us to say "Ahh" and look into our mouth. Sometimes he puts his hand on our forehead (macam nak rasa demam ke tak la konon). Then he'll take his plastic stethoscope and listen to our tummy hikhik. He's very gentle and looks very serious when doing it.

He also likes telling stories. They're pretty funny. I always tell myself I want to write them down but I always forget. He tells me stories in the morning or when we're playing pretend. Sometimes he surprises me with big words which he probably picked up from kinder or Dora the explorer.

It's a really fun age.

ahmad- kene gak beli toy hahaha. alang2 gi shopping centre je dia akan kata "nak gi toy shop" huhu. nasib baik ada toy library. dia ingat kita "bayar" toys kat library tu hahaha

lollies- tabarakallah. i am biased la saying my son is cute hahaha. tapi kita pun entertained la ngan telatah dia. hehehe

k nina- layth ni camera shy la. atau camera rebel. alang nampak camera je pandang tempat lain atau lari huhu. simpan dalam brain memory aje la

zakri- ha umur afifah mmg dah start pretend play. terus encourage! kalau belikan teacup set (murah jer), mesti dia tuang2 air dari teko masuk cawan, pas tu buat cam cafe la..kelakar. wpun layth lelaki, i still galakkan dia main masak2 gak. dia takde doll tapi dia pandai main soft toy dia mcm jaga baby. siap tuck into bed, rocking, nyanyi "rock-a-bye-baby".

k sara- ahahaha. selalu dengar perkataan tu kot. hari2 dia tanya baba and ummi pergi mana. hari2 jawab baba and ummi kerja kat hospital. jadi doctor. tolong orang sakit. dia pon nak buat jugak.

Em loves to pretend. It is loads of fun. Today we had a tea party with Mr and Mrs Peas (two teddy bears) and Mr and Mrs Charlie (a bear and a bunny) in attendance. Em talked on and on about what they were talking about :-) I love pretend time!
